Lower Back Pain From Sitting

lower back pain from sitting
lower back pain? where did it come from?

Since yesterday i have been experiencing this nasty back pain on the lower right side and its killing me. It started while i was on the treadmill and it seems it act up when i do anything pysical like getting up from sitting or running. I am 16 so its def not arthritus. I did around 120 crunches yesterday( which i normally do) but i cant think of anything else that would be the culpurit. Please help i have school tommorrow and a crazy amount of books to carry around.

Tobe,

This is probably related to back stresses accumulating over time. Here are some short term and long term ideas:

- Suck in your belly and keep it sucked in for quite a while.

- Never lift with your back – always with your legs (if your legs aren’t strong enough then do some leg workouts)

- Simple rigid back Pushups and Pullups can help with strengthening the correct muscles and keeping the back straight.

- Whenever you sit on a chair, be sure to rotate and sit on the front of your pelvis instead of the back of the pelvis. It is virtually impossible to sit up straight when sitting on the back of the pelvis.

Good Luck. These should help get rid of the pain in time for class, and with prolonged use should help it stay away and not return.
